NEW! Low Impact 50 Cal Paintball Parties

A far less intense way to experience the traditional thrill

We are proud to offer a new alternative to ‘traditional’ 68 caliber paintball – what we call Low Impact Paintball! Our new equipment for is a smaller-sized paintball gun that uses a smaller paintball size, but is still operated by Compressed Air. Unlike PeeWee this isn’t designed for kids under 10 years of age – it’s fun for everyone! Low Impact 50-Cal is a great party alternative because compared to regular paintball, Low Impact is a smaller, lighter, slower paintball which means no sting!

What this means for you is the traditional Hide & Seek, Hunt-or-be-Hunted thrill you expect paintball to be, but now without the pain! The equipment is similar (air-driven paintball gun, standard paintball mask required, compressed air tank, hopper with paintballs), but the experience is painless and fun. Call today to inquire about availability! 50 Cal Low Impact Paintball is perfect for birthday parties, Sweet Sixteens, Corporate Teambuilding, Sports Teams, Youth Groups, Bachelor/ette parties and more!

Low Impact Paintball games are offered in the same time packages as traditional paintball – 2, 3 and 4 hour packages. Please note, that due to limited availability, there is currently a maximum of 50 players for Low Impact parties, and you MUST specify that you want 50-cal Low Impact (Not PeeWee or Regular Paintball) otherwise you may not get the gear you wanted!

Party Packages include Paintball Gun, Mask, Tank, Private Fields, Referee, Air Refills, and paintballs per player. 10 player minimum for all parties. Feel free to complete the party experience by taking advantage of our Picnic Pavilion for some after-game smack talk, pizza and cake.

Pre-Reservation Questions

What is it like? How much does it hurt?

To put it in perspective:

Traditional Paintball: 68 caliber paintball size, 3.5 gram weight, 300 FPS – perfect for regular players who seek the best performance, and don’t mind the sting from being hit. Designed for experienced and competitive players. This is the type you have seen on TV or movies.

PeeWee: The “Nerf” or “T-ball” equivalent to Paintball. Air Powered, 50 caliber paintball size, 1.2 gram weight, 110 FPS. Recommended for ages 8 to 12.

Low Impact: 50 caliber paintball size, 2.2 gram weight, 220 FPS – our new favorite way of playing paintball. These paintballs hurt far less (but will leave a small welt, closer to a pinch than a “bee sting” of paintball), weigh less and are much easier to carry and operate. No tired arms, no paintball stings – it’s the perfect paintball experience for those who want to play paintball, but not get hurt. Try it today!

How do parties work?

A private party is a reservation of a “Safety Zone”, or Player Area. This netted area is where players have tables and benches for their own use (no other groups permitted, hence private), and where the majority of the party time is spent (if not on the fields). Player’s bags will be here and this is where players go in between games. A typical paintball match takes about 8-10 minutes, and once you are hit you go back to your safe zone to await the next game.

On the day of play, gather all the players at the Crusader Paintball Pro Shop, where we collect waivers then distribute equipment. Players must be then driven by parents to the playing fields, located behind our facility, and then are escorted by their referee to their Player’s Area. After a safety briefing and instructions on how to play are given, players are taken to one field after another (alternating fields every game for variety) After the games are done, players typically head back to the Airshed / Picnic Pavilion for after-game pizza or cake. After a quick post-game meal, players return their gear to our Pro Shop! Pretty easy right?

Is there a minimum for private parties?

Yes, there is a minimum for private parties of at least 10 players. If you have, say, 8 players, you CAN opt to play, you just need to pay for the first 10 players (please note, we have a 10 person minimum because the games are boring and repetitive when you have less than 10 players!)

We do not offer a Public Walk On play for Low Impact 50 Cal at this time.

Are there any waivers needed?

Yes, we require all players and spectators have a waiver filled out for their day of play. The waiver must be signed by a parent if the player/spectator is under 18 years old. These waivers are available here on the site (look at the red bar at the top) or can be filled out in person.

How do I make a reservation?

You can make a private party reservation by calling our Pro Shop at 215-949-4600. Please be advised that we require a 50% non-refundable deposit when you want to book your time slot, so have a credit card ready. This means that just calling and talking to a store associate about a party does NOT guarantee your party.

What else do I need? Are there any other fees?

The party packages include everything you need to play. That being said, the party package doesn’t include things like a camo jumpsuit, a chest protector, anti-fog masks, paint grenades, etc. All of these items (and more) can be purchased/rented on the day of.

What to Bring

What else should I bring from home?

Well, first and foremost – spare clothing, and trashbags. The spare clothing to change into, and the trashbags for the dirty clothing! A common question is- “Will my son come back covered in paint?” The answer is no, you probably got more paint on you the last time you painted your living room. But, you are outsides running around diving, crawling, rolling around in the woods… so you do get muddy.

Bringing in outside food and drink is permitted, or you can purchase food and drink from our snackshed. There is also a great pizza place right next door that delivers to our location almost daily… we’ll be happy to give you their phone number!

Do I need to have a chaperon?

Nope! As a family-friendly facility, we pride ourselves in being the ‘daycare for adults’. The management staff/family here will be more than happy to take your kids off your hands for a few hours… perfect for those random school holidays where you have nothing else to do.

Should I tip my referee? What is the norm?

Your referee is the person who prepared your rental equipment, signed it all out, will be with you from the minute you arrive until you leave, and is the person who cleans all the equipment afterwards. While a tip certainly isn’t expected, it’s always greatly appreciated. The ‘normal amount’ for a tip is about $20-40 (think about it – that ref might have 50 masks, guns, hoppers and tanks to clean!).

Can I bring my 68 caliber marker to a Low Impact party, or take my 50 Cal into 68 Caliber games?

No, you cannot bring your 68 caliber to 50 cal games, mostly because the 68 caliber markers have an unfair advantage in range and firepower. Smaller caliber and assorted guns conversely may not play in 68 caliber games; you’ll be slaughtered to be blunt about it. It isn’t safe for you, and we don’t want to put other players in an unsafe situation as well.

Is there any food included?

While we do offer a public, covered picnic pavilion for your use and we have a snackshed on site, private parties do not include food or cake. You are welcome to bring and enjoy pizza/cake for after-game festivities. In fact, the pizza place right next door delivers to our fields almost daily! Please be advised that we do NOT have coolers available on site for food or drink storage.

Can we bring pizza and cake? We think we want a birthday party

Like we mentioned, we are party experts here at Crusader. We know you want to have pizza and cake as part of the party, so let’s help you out – have the pizza after you play in our picnic pavilion when the weather is nice (no indoor option at the moment). There is a pizza place located right next door to us that delivers to our fields almost daily, and yes we have their menu and phone number in our store. When you want to order pizza just notify your referee.

Other Questions

If it's so low impact then do I need to wear a mask?

Yup. It’s Low Impact Paintball, not Laser Tag. Paintballs flying at any velocity can cause damage to unprotected eyes, therefore we require all players regardless of age to wear appropriate paintball playing masks.

What is the rain cancellation policy?

We are open rain or shine. Any changes to party reservations must be at least 7 days in advance. Any rescheduling, due to weather or otherwise, within 7 days of an event will be subject to a $50 Rescheduling Fee. Contact the ProShop to make any changes to your event as soon as possible at 215-949-4600

How much do more paintballs cost?

Additional paintballs cost $5 per bag of 100, $10 per bag of 200 and $18 per bag of 400.

What upgrades/other rentals do you have?

Other than the included mask, gun and tank that comes with all of our packages, we have:

  • Camo Jumpsuits (protects your clothing, $12.00)
  • Chest Protectors ($7.00 Daily Rental)
  • Neck Protectors ($5 in the ProShop)
  • Anti-Fog Mask ($10.00 Daily Rental)
Do I have to arrive early for the party?

You should anticipate arriving about 45 minutes early in order to get through the registration and briefing process.  So, if you book a 2 hour party beginning at 1:00 pm, you should plan to arrive at our Pro Shop by 12:15 pm. Party leaders should also be advised that our Pro Shop is NOT adjacent to the playing fields – so transportation to and from the Playing Fields will be required. The drive is less than a minute long, but guests are not permitted to walk due to safety concerns.

Do you offer any discounts?

We do offer large discounts – 10% off 25-34 people, 15% off 35-44 people, and 20% off 45+. All discounts are applied on the day of and cannot be combined with other offers/coupons/discounts.
